Meet Team Vigor.

In February 2014, Patrick Magno and Daniel Johnson teamed up with a vision of revolutionizing the personal training industry. The concept was to offer a comprehensive and affordable source of fitness expertise, which could help anyone achieve their goals. By Sept. 2014, Vigor Workouts, LLC was up and running, and the company continues to innovate and see more clients succeed every day.

Personal Trainers

Jordan Tsai

Jordan is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Vigor’s Lead Personal Trainer. holds a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science.  In addition to helping rehabilitate patients at Reischl Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapy Aide, he also served as a Trauma Care Specialist in the US Army and has extensive knowledge of military physical training methods. Jordan has been actively involved in physical fitness as a way of life for over four years as the Building Manager at CSU Long Beach’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center, and has experience with fitness concepts ranging from yoga to bodybuilding. An avid fitness enthusiast, Jordan wants his clients to not only surpass their fitness goals, but to internalize a love of being physically active, regardless of what activities they choose to take part in.

Tim Delacruz

Tim is a competition boxer, NASM-certified trainer, and research student at CSU Long Beach. He knows first-hand what it’s like to face a daunting fitness goal: after being an avid weight lifter growing up, multiple injuries in college made it difficult for him to work out, and he subsequently went into a weight-gaining tailspin that left him at over 285 pounds. Tim decided at that point that he needed a change in his habits. A year after restructuring his goals and customizing his workouts to fit his personal needs, he is down to 178 pounds and enjoying success in the boxing ring. Tim’s ample experience with a variety of fitness goals (cutting fat, gaining lean mass, building endurance, and more) make him a valuable asset in the Vigor lineup.

Nick Van Hoorn

Nick is an NASM certified personal trainer and is currently working on his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at CSU Long Beach with an emphasis in Exercise Science. His first interest in the field of health and fitness came from the physical therapy he underwent after tearing his Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) when he was thirteen years old. After seeing the improvements that he could make to his own health, he found a passion in physical therapy and decided that was what he wanted to pursue as his future career. As time went on, he would continuously have to keep the muscles around his injured knee strong to avoid future injury, and he found his love for training and physical fitness while doing so. Today Nick is in pursuit of his Bachelor’s degree and has prospects of attaining a higher degree in physical therapy.

Kashif Ahmed

Kashif is an NASM-certified trainer and graduated from CSU Long Beach with a B.S. in Molecular Cell Biology and Physiology, along with a minor in chemistry. He was first exposed to strength training at the age of 14, at which point he began to get deeply get involved in fitness as a lifestyle. Kashif’s background in the sciences has also allowed him to truly understand health and fitness at a deeper level and how everything interplays in the human body. His philosophy is that the mind, body, and spirit are one. When ones health is an issue (body), their mind becomes stressed, which leads emotions (spirit) to run rampant. To keep his own body, mind, and spirit well, Kashif participates in a blend of strength training techniques including yoga, plyometrics, Pilates, weight training, and team sports.

Brandon Tran

Brandon recently acquired his NASM personal training certification and is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. With an overall dream of helping others and a passion for health and fitness, Brandon wishes to apply his knowledge and expertise to what he loves: helping people achieve their goals and be able to see them make moves towards a healthier and fuller life. He is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has had extensive volleyball experience through high school indoor, club indoor, and beach volleyball. Through years of plyometric, strength, and athletic training, Brandon has no doubt that a personalized training program will push any individual towards success. “Your true effort and will of the mind-and-body will have a direct result on simple, yet effective, steps towards achieving goals.”

His philosophy in life is simply to “Be Better.”

His passion in life is to apply his experience and knowledge to help others be the best versions of themselves.

Shanna Newton

Shanna graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor’s degree in physiology and is currently working towards a Ph.D in neuro-endocrinology. Shanna has been a certified personal trainer since 2012 and received a certification for sports nutrition in 2014. She had a passion for swimming and gymnastics while growing up and is currently training in Muay Thai. She has competed in her first fight and plans to add more under her belt in the near future.

Patrick Magno
Co-Founder & CEO

Patrick Magno holds a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California (USC) and has worked as a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) at 24 Hour Fitness. He is a published research scientist and graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a bachelors of science degree, majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Physiology and Molecular Cell Biology, along with a minor in chemistry. He continuously strives to expand his knowledge of the human body and its functions to create the best plans for his clients; all while pushing the boundaries of his own physical limits.

Warren Claiborne

Warren Claiborne graduated from Long Beach State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration: Management. Out of high school he earned his Notary Public license and is currently working towards his Real Estate license.

He met Patrick while attending LBSU and quickly bonded over weight lifting, rock climbing, and monopoly. While in college Warren completed the Journey of Hope; a 4,000 mile bicycle ride across the United States in order to raise funds and awareness for people living with disabilities, along with volunteering after each day’s ride. He maintains the hardest part was the mental battle; even though the physical aspect was no walk in the park.

Warren works closely with all of Team Vigor to ensure the integrity of our process. He will soon be traveling the world representing Vigor Workouts wherever he goes. He also has future plans of combining his love for great food with business and becoming a restauranteur.

William Quanstrom

Will Quanstrom is the Chief Financial Officer for Vigor. He graduated from California State University, Long Beach in December 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics and a minor Statistics.

Will is in charge of overseeing all monetary transactions and managing Vigor’s financial holdings. He contributes with the provisioning of ongoing support for clients and performs organizational and procedural analysis.

Charles Benandi
Director of Philanthropy

Charles Benandi holds a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California (USC). He graduated from Miami University in Ohio in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health after majoring in Exercise Science. Growing up in Chicago, Charles caddied and was awarded an Evans Scholarship to college. The scholarship was very influential on his life and prompted him towards giving back to those who have helped him. Charles’ interest in healthcare is deeply rooted in his desire to help and give back to others.

Charles believes that giving back to the community can be a powerful tool for change. As philanthropy chair of the USC Physical Therapy class of 2017 he sees first-hand how providing physical therapy to underserved populations can help change their lives. His goal for Vigor Workouts is to help promote this change beyond the confines of East Los Angeles and make physical therapy more accessible to all that need it.
